Hospira Bacteriostatic Water (30mL) is a sterile, non-pyrogenic preparation of water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which acts as a bacteriostatic preservative. This additive inhibits the growth of most potentially contaminating bacteria, allowing the vial to be used for multiple entries (typically up to 28 days) to dilute or dissolve drugs for parenteral injection.
